Rana Arshed Hafiz
I was born and raised in India in a family…..
Where working for social good and service to people was central to our identity. After a degree in mathematics from Delhi University, I earned a degree in Mass Communication freelancing as a documentary film maker working towards creating awareness around education. After moving to the US as an adult I became a mother and my visits to schools inspired me to become a teacher. I have taught in urban and suburban public schools in Connecticut for 20 years both as a teacher and an administrator. I received my advanced degree in School Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
I love listening to podcasts, reading books, cooking for my family and learning from different sources connecting ideas. I would love to see public schools become strong community institutions where every student is able to reach their full potential becoming ethical, moral, caring citizen ready to contribute meaningfully in the world they live in and leave it better than they found it.
